Healthia Consulting Acquired By Ingenix

Company Description

Founded in 1998, Healthia Consulting is one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing project-based consulting firms focused exclusively on the healthcare industry. The Company provides a broad array of management advisory and solutions delivery services to payer, provider, and life sciences customers, with 100% of these clients serving as a reference for the Company. Within the healthcare provider market, Healthia is well respected for its subject matter expertise and technical depth with Epic Systems – a “Best in KLAS” provider of ambulatory EMR and inpatient clinical systems. The Company has developed a superior reputation in the market as the highest ranking Epic-based implementation partner in KLAS’ “Clinical Implementation” category.

Objectives

Following several years of 35%+ revenue growth, the Company found itself stretched thin on resources and unable to fully capitalize on the rapidly growing market for Epic-based implementation services and other healthcare IT consulting opportunities. In order to keep pace with the explosive demand for EMR software, the Company decided to pursue a strategic partnership that could provide the necessary resources and complementary services to attain Healthia’s full market potential.

Healthia selected and retained TripleTree as its exclusive financial advisor due to TripleTree’s in-depth knowledge of the healthcare and IT services industries. Leveraging expertise in these sectors, TripleTree provided the following services:

TripleTree worked closely with the Company’s leadership team to position Healthia as a best-of-breed services provider within one of the fastest growing segments of healthcare IT, providing a meaningful entry point for a broad set of global acquirers;

TripleTree managed a competitive process emphasizing Healthia’s solid financial performance, technical depth, and exceptional reputation in the industry, garnering interest from a variety of strategic acquirers; and

TripleTree worked closely with Healthia’s management team to determine which prospective acquirer had the best mix of scale, complementary services, and cultural fit to make for a viable partner going forward.

Results

TripleTree successfully negotiated the sale of Healthia Consulting to Ingenix, a leading provider of content, data analytics, technology, and services to the U.S. healthcare industry. From Healthia’s perspective, the transaction provides the Company with significant resources to accelerate its recruiting efforts and pursue new revenue opportunities in other clinical solutions and related revenue cycle consulting. Ingenix, whose consulting business has historically been limited to the payer market, will leverage Healthia as a platform to expand into the provider market. Ted Chien, EVP of Ingenix’s Consulting and Employer Solutions group, stated, “We believe that adding Healthia’s strengths in management advisory, solution development and delivery, and healthcare management will help make Ingenix one of the most powerful full-service healthcare consulting companies in the industry.”
