Company Description

MethodCare is a provider of highly differentiated SaaS-based predictive analytics and workflow solutions to hospitals and health systems. Advanced data mining algorithms leverage applied mathematics and statistics across a broad range of patient billing, clinical, and financial data sets to reveal meaningful insights to maximize reimbursement and link costs to clinical outcomes and quality. Their value proposition addresses several critical pain points across the revenue cycle (e.g., patient access, charge integrity, denials and A/R management) as well as the emerging population health management environment.

Objectives

MethodCare engaged TripleTree to evaluate its strategic alternatives, including over-the-wall interest from ZirMed, a leading provider of clearinghouse and revenue cycle management solutions primarily to physicians, labs, ASCs, and post-acute care providers. Several executive-level strategy meetings among the teams along with TripleTree-led negotiations with ZirMed drove a pre-emptive offer, and diligence began promptly upon the execution of the Letter of Intent (LOI).

Results

The combination provides a truly predictive platform to enable providers to manage both fee-for-service and value-based care simultaneously, while maximizing revenue, streamlining workflows, and optimizing outcomes. ZirMed will immediately expand its presence in Chicago with a Healthcare Analytics Center of Excellence led by MethodCare’s team of data scientists and business intelligence engineers. The deal will provide significant strategic synergies and propel meaningful growth for the combined entities.
