VRI Recapitalized By Pamlico Capital
Valued Relationships, Inc. (“VRI”) is a technology-enabled Remote-Patient Monitoring and Surveillance platform that utilizes medical alert and telemonitoring technologies to improve patient care, prevent hospitalizations, and reduce medical costs, while empowering the elderly, the disabled, and individuals with chronic conditions to live safely and independently at home. The Company’s services are utilized by patient/member populations derived from a diverse, national customer base consisting of commercial health plans, state Medicaid agencies, home health agencies, health systems, caregivers, and individuals.
As the healthcare market shifts to patient-centered care, payers and providers alike are in need of a broader data set than traditionally found in static medical records and/or historical claims data. Care coordination and optimization requires actionable, real-time and prospective data that can be acted upon long before a doctor’s office visit, medical emergency, or a filed claim. VRI fills this need as it continuously aggregates, monitors and analyzes real-time clinical data and patient behaviors in the home, utilizing more than 50 different devices and multiple diagnoses and therapeutic classes. VRI’s services provide customers with a more holistic view of the patient, which can be used to proactively identify gaps in care and facilitate the appropriate clinical intervention at the appropriate time.
VRI engaged TripleTree as its exclusive financial advisor to help evaluate and assess the Company’s strategic options. Multiple industry tailwinds including an aging population, insurance coverage expansion through exchanges and Medicaid, the emergence of readmission reduction programs, and the growing prevalence of homecare creates a significant need for Remote-Patient Monitoring and Surveillance solutions across multiple healthcare market segments. As such, VRI sought a partner with a shared vision of the healthcare market as well as the ability to support the Company’s aggressive future organic and strategic growth initiatives.
After assessing several highly qualified candidates, VRI aligned with Pamlico Capital. Pamlico Capital is a private equity firm focused on middle-market growth equity and buyout investments with over 25 years of investing experience in healthcare, technology and business services, and communications. Pamlico Capital distinguished itself throughout the process as a result of its background and experience as an investor and its partnership-centric approach to interacting and working with VRI’s management team to accelerate a strong market position.
